Nick Cave – songwriter, musician and writer of fiction and screenplays – will appear at the literary festival City2Cities on the evening of Friday May 15th in Utrecht. In the monumental building of the former post office at the Neude, Cave will read from his new book The Sick Bag Song and will discuss his novels, screenplays and songwriting. Cave is currently touring through Europe with a series of sold out concerts.
Despised by many, admired by even more, l’enfant terrible of French Literature Michel Houellebecq will perform at City2Cities 2015 on Saturday the 16th of May! He will discuss his newly released novel Submission with his translator Martin de Haan. In the novel, year 2022’s France is depicted, in which a Muslim president is elected. Even before it was released, the novel caused a debate, which is only heatened by the Charlie Hebdo assaults in Paris.
The young writer Eleanor Catton from New Zealand and Michel Faber from Scotland will, amongst others, perform at City2Cities 2015. Catton is part of the programme of Friday May 15, Faber of the programme of Saturday May 16. MOre names of performing writers will be announced during the coming months.
The fifth edition of City2Cities takes place on May 15 and 16 2015. The festival about literature from world cities has found an unique location for this special edition: the former head post office at the Neude square in Utrecht. City2Cities is the first festival to take place in this monumental building.
